Christmas with Addie's Good(s) FAQ's

I. AM. SO. EXCITED. FOR. FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so I am also completely overwhelmed and spinning in a million different directions.  Our babe has decided that today is the day he needs to acquire a new tooth, so that’s super fun.  Trying to get anything done with an 11 month old that cries when you look at him- and cries when you don’t- is like trying to brush your teeth while eating oreos.  It just doesn’t work….  Then there are the other three kiddos… to whom I suggested entertaining themselves with Playdoh in a weak moment.  Remember the Fuzzy Pumper?  Uh yeah, Mimi thought my five year old needed that for a birthday gift last year, so after said Playdoh session there were EIGHT MILLION tiny balls of green “hair” all over the floor.  Then my dear hubby had to lead his small group of sixth grade boys (bless him) at church tonight, so I had dinner, bath, homework, and bedtime solo.  During the babe’s bath, the three Playdoh people decided to pull out the eldest’s mini sandbox- and then there was green sand added to the green Playdoh hair all over the floor. OH. MY. GOODNESS.  WE HAVE SEVENTY GUESTS COMING TO OUR HOME IN TWO DAYS AND THERE IS A SEA OF GREEN ON MY FRESHLY MOPPED FLOOR.  There is not enough coffee in the world to keep me up as late as I need to be tonight.  The only reason I’m writing at this moment is so I can sit and avoid the ever-growing pile of stuff on my checklist. 
But alas, Friday is coming regardless of what I get done, so I better get to work, and we’ll just trust the Lord’s grace to fill in the gaps I miss… and maybe he’ll blind your eyes to the green on the floor. J

The real reason I sat down to type (before my mind went on a tangent fueled by exhaustion) was I’ve received several questions about the event, so here goes Christmas with Addie’s Good(s) FAQ’s.  Get pumped. This is gonna blow your mind. Or not. But it is useful information. So, read on.

1.     Where is the event???
If you’ve purchased a ticket by emailing us at info@addiesgoods.com, you should have received an invoice (via the email address through which you contacted us).  Once you paid the invoice, you should have received another email with the ticket attached.  THE ADDRESS IS ON THE TICKET. Because we are hosting this at our home, we don’t want to publicize the address to the world.  Just for a frame of reference, we live in Crestwood, two minutes from exit 14 on 71.  If you still have questions about the location, message us on Facebook or email. 

2.     What time???
6:30-9:00 pm.  You do not have to be here right when it starts.  Come and go as you please!  We are just thrilled you are attending!

3.     Where should we park???
Feel free to park in the driveway or along the street.  We have an empty lot next door (on the corner of our court), so parking in front of it and around the corner should be great.  RIDE TOGETHER AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE! Carpooling for the win!  You know you want more time with your friends!

4.     What types of payment will you accept???
Credit card (all the biggies except American Express) and cash

5.     Can I bring my kids?
We have asked that those in attendance be over the age of 12 as much as possible.  We love kids. We have four (remember the Playdoh?) It’s just gonna be a bit crowded and much easier to shop without your little people.  We do understand that there will need to be exceptions to this in a few cases.  Just use your best judgement.

6.     Can my hubby/boyfriend come?
Sure! You’ll just have to share your snacks. J This is a great chance to give hints of what you’d like for Christmas!  We will have multiple people to help put items aside if your hubby can be sneaky enough to tell us what he’d like to buy you.  He can even pay for it on a later date!

7.     Do I need to eat before I come?
We are so excited to be supporting Scarlet’s Bakery again!  They will be providing the sweet treats and coffee, and there will be some salty goodies to satisfy your taste buds, as well.  So, if you’re super hungry, then yeah, eat before, BUT there will be some awesome yumminess ready for snacking. 

8.  Are there any more tickets available?
     Shoot us an email.  info@addiesgoods.com.  At the time of publishing this blog, there are five-ish tickets left.

Christmas with Addie's Good(s)

Alrighty, Friends- the info that you’ve been waiting for all week!!!! I know you’ve lost sleep with the excitement of this announcement, so without further ado…

What?  Christmas with Addie’s Good(s)
An evening of shopping, snacking, and fellowshipping
When?  Friday, November 17th
6:30-9:00 PM
Who?  Ages 12 & Up
Where?  The Baker Family Home in Crestwood
(specific address will be given to ticket holders)

Tomorrow morning at 7 AM, tickets will go on sale.  Each ticket is $6, and you can choose to have us donate that cost to either Gospel & Grain (in Ethiopia) or Scarlet Hope (here in Louisville).

To purchase tickets:  Send an email to info@addiesgoods.com with the number of tickets needed and the organization (chosen from the above listed) whom you would like to receive your ticket cost. We will then send you an invoice to be paid via credit card.  The email will be coming from our Square register.   We will have a limited number of tickets available, so after we’ve reached that amount, we will put you on a waitlist for a possible second event.  Tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis (based upon time we receive your email.)  If credit card does not work for you to purchase your ticket, let us know, and we will work something out!

The goods have begun to arrive, and y’all are gonna absolutely LOVE them.  I can’t wait to share them with you.  There is no better gift at Christmas than one that your recipient will love- and one that offered HOPE to those who crafted it.  Choose to let your Christmas shopping change lives and purchase your gifts at Christmas with Addie’s Good(s)… and maybe even treat yourself.



We are bummed to not have our new location up and ready for you yet, but we know the Lord has a great plan for the future of Addie’s Good(s).  If you missed our previous blog, check it out to learn more about our great new spot opening this spring in Crestwood!

A New Season, A New Location

Happy Friday, Friends!  I hope this blog finds you well.   Billy and I are remembering that five years ago today, we were holding our precious Addie for the first time.  We had no idea then all that was ahead- the joy, the heartbreak, the redemption.  The memories of that day are still vivid in my mind, and there is a fresh sting each year on this day as I recall how my heart leapt when I saw her being carried up the steps of the transition home for the first time… of how that sweet girl grabbed ahold of my hair and giggled the sweetest giggle I’d ever heard, all the while gripping my heart until I was sure it would burst.  I ache for her in the very depths of my being, and YET… His will be done.  And wow, does His will- His plan- look very different than mine did five years ago.  I could not even begin to imagine how He would use our love, our pain, our passion- our Addie- to impact hundreds of lives around the world.  He is so good and so kind to turn our ashes into something of beauty.

As you know, we closed the doors to Addie’s Good(s) a couple of months ago and announced we would be moving to a new location.  Well, after much prayer and seeking of the Lord’s will for the store, we have found what we believe will be a fantastic place for Addie’s Good(s)!!! 

Drumroll, please!.......

Coming early Spring—
Addie’s Good(s) of Crestwood!!!

We will be right next door to Gustavo’s Mexican Grill (6402 Westwind Way).  We hate to say good-bye to our beloved LaGrange, but we feel very strongly that the Lord provided this new spot for this next chapter of Addie’s, and we truly hope you, our faithful customers and partners, will follow us to Crestwood!


Soooooo, you may be thinking (I sincerely hope you’re thinking) WHAT ABOUT CHRISTMAS SHOPPING???? No worries, we’ve got you covered!! We are busy ordering goods right now and planning two, possibly three events for you to come do your holiday shopping with a purpose.  These events will be ticketed, with a limited number available.  The cost of a ticket will be just $6, and 100% of that money will go to an amazing organization, to be announced. J Once one night sells out, we will offer another night, and so on.  Each event will be a fun evening of fellowship, snacking (Scarlett’s Bakery!!!), and shopping, to make a difference in the lives of men and women around the U.S. and the world.  Dates and other info will be announced later this week, and tickets will go on sale Friday, October 27.  Check your email, Facebook, and Instagram for important updates! 


We are so excited about what the Lord has in store for this little project and we can’t wait to share more with you as everything falls into place!

BIG NEWS!!!

Hello Friends!!!

It’s been a while since I’ve shared much with you, but we have a pretty big announcement to make…
DRUMROLL, PLEASE (and now we all picture Clark Griswold in his front yard about to show his family his glorious display of Christmas lights- Cue “Joy to the World”… I hope this doesn’t fall as dismally flat…)

Addie’s Good(s) is relocating!!!

Where??? Good question. I was soooo struggling with sharing this news with you this morning without a definite answer to the “where?” question, but the Holy Spirit reminded me of Abraham- well, Abram at the time- Remember Him? Check out Genesis 12-

“Now the Lord said to Abram, ‘Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.’”

Don’t you love how Scripture written so long ago can speak directly to your current situation? Aren’t you thankful that the Holy Spirit can bring to mind just what you need to hear from the Lord, just when you need to hear it?  That’s exactly what occurred for me just moments ago as I considered how to tell y’all this news.  Listen, I am not trying to insinuate that I am Abram in this story and that our current direction from the Lord is as weighty as what He had for him- but like Abram, we do not have an answer on where yet.  We’re just packing up and going, and trying to faithfully trust that He’ll lead the way. Our current location is a super cute space, and our landlord has been amazingly gracious to us, but it is no longer meeting our needs.  The Lord absolutely provided this specific space for us 18 months or so ago, but now, we believe He has something else for Addie’s Good(s). 

We feel very strongly that He is not done with Addie’s, and that He will indeed lead us to a new location.  And we are praying that we are moved and open again in time for your Christmas shopping.  However, I’ve learned that my plan often looks nothing like the Lord’s, so we will also trust Him for the timing.

So, what now?  This week will be our last at our current location.  The entire store (with the exception of MudLove bands- YES! They are back in stock!!!) will be 25%- 40% off.  A purchase of one or two items will be 25% off.  A purchase of 3 or more items will be 40% off.   

We covet your prayers and your support.  Please know that you have been amazing partners with us in changing lives around the world for His glory, and we are immensely thankful for you.  We have great expectations of what the Lord will do in this next chapter of Addie’s Good(s)!  Be sure that we have your email address and that you are following along on Instagram and Facebook to keep updated on what’s happening!
